Hurricane Gustav

Please keep everyone in the gulf cost in your thoughts and prayers. Looks like my home town is going to take a direct hit. I flew out this morning and I have never seen my hometown as it was this morning. Scared and worried. I'll keep you updated!

Saying Goodbye

"A Friend is someone who knows all about you and loves you anyway!!!" So it's my last hours on a quite weekend just playing around on the Internet in my house. As I think back to some of the wonderful things that have happened while we lived here I can't help but think of all we have overcome and the people Jase and I have become together. We have gone through our first Thanksgiving that I cooked, finding out we were pregnant, Jason and I both enjoying promotions, our 1st and 2nd wedding anniversary, and meeting friends that can never be replaced. We have also gone through the loss of my grandfather and the loss of a pregnancy. When I tally it all up in my head we have had many more good things than bad. Threw all of these good and bad memories there has always been one thing.......... our friends! I wouldn't love anything more than to take the friends we've made here and pack them in boxes. They are the people that have helped Jase and I become the people we are. No other friends that we make in the future will EVER compare to the ones we had here. I wish nothing but happiness, laughter, and a few girlfriends for a few of you. I will always have a special place in my heart for you! As you know me I am sitting here as tears flow just thinking about saying goodbye. As much as I have disliked where I have lived you guys made it so much fun. So knowing I won't be able to tell you these things I wrote them, I wrote them down so you can truly know how much I care. There are some of you that were there when the marriage road had a fight and you were my shoulder and sounding board. Others were there when it was time just to have a good time and make me laugh. Then others were there when I didn't think I would make it another day at work. You know who you are and I will miss you, and as much as I try to express my feelings there are no words.........I just have to hope on this road not taken by others that our paths will cross again someday!

The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Tired and Twitching!

How do I know I am tired and stressed? Because the internet tells me so. This morning my eyelid just starting spasing out. And knowing what that means I just groaned and looked on the net to see if I could do anything. Oh course, they give you all the reasons this happens but no solutions.
" Eye twitching, or myokymia, is an involuntary eyelid muscle contraction that usually affects the lower eyelid. The exact cause of an eyelid twitch is unknown. A twitch sometimes develops during times of increased stress. Twitching has also been associated with high caffeine intake, fatigue or excessive squinting. It can also occur after reading or working on a computer for prolonged periods of time.
An eyelid twitch is usually a sign that you need to take a break and relax. Sometimes a twitch will go away following a good night's sleep, but a stubborn twitch may last as long as three weeks.
"

Let's see......
Times of Increase stress....... Check
High Caffeine Intake.............. Check (to help keep me alive during the day)
Fatigue..................................... Check (You just don't sleep as well without your spouse)
Excessive Squinting............... Check (I know I need new glasses)
Working on Computer........... Check (CAD monkey is all I have to say!)

The best is take a break and relax. WOW! If it were only that easy. Let's see. I have a job I'm leaving, a house to pack and move, a house to sell, move into a new loft, and find a job. This is only my to-do list for the next 2 weeks. So stressed me..........................Hell Yeah! Oh and did I mention I'm going to be an independent women and do it all myself.

Ragin Cajuns!

I have been reading a lot about the Ragin Cajun's Football team this year. Their motto this year, “We believe!” That's exactly how all us alumni feel. From what I hear we are going to have a pretty good team this year. So on August 29 wear your Red and Black, it's Cajun Day!

Baby?

So what's worse than the whole world knowing your TTC? The whole world knowing you were pregnant and lost the baby. Because now the question I get is, "So are you pregnant yet?" or "So when are you going to try again." I love you all I really do, but PLEASE stop the questioning! And no it's not going to be anytime soon. Believe me when it happens Jason will be jumping and shouting from the roof top for all to hear because I sure won't be saying anything. I guess you could say I've been burned and I'm not about to jinx anything. I've done the telling everyone in person and the cute present for Jason. I'm done with it. In fact next time I will probably just toss the test at Jase and say here you go. The glamor and excitement has been shot and killed for me. Sorry but there you have it. If you have anymore questions please address them to my better half, because believe me when it comes to this topic he is the better half.  Who wouldn't want to talk to this guy?

This is how I know I have been hanging out with guys to much, because I love this picture!

Poll Results are in!

To all that said it wouldn't all get done in one weekend.......

CONGRATS! You know me well.

Vote now in this weeks poll..... Am I RED?

I am RED!

I found this article while killing time today. http://desktoppub.about.com/cs/colorselection/p/red.htm

Red
By Jacci Howard Bear, About.com

Love and War:
Red is hot. It's a strong color that conjures up a range of seemingly conflicting emotions from passionate love to violence and warfare. Red is Cupid and the Devil.
Nature of Red:
A stimulant, red is the hottest of the warm colors. Studies show that red can have a physical effect, increasing the rate of respiration and raising blood pressure.
The expression seeing red indicates anger and may stem not only from the stimulus of the color but from the natural flush (redness) of the cheeks, a physical reaction to anger, increased blood pressure, or physical exertion.
Culture of Red:
Red is power, hence the red power tie for business people and the red carpet for celebrities and VIPs (very important people).
Flashing red lights denote danger or emergency. Stop signs and stop lights are red to get the drivers' attention and alert them to the dangers of the intersection.
In some cultures, red denotes purity, joy, and celebration. Red is the color of happiness and prosperity in China and may be used to attract good luck.Red is often the color worn by brides in the East while it is the color of mourning in South Africa. In Russia the Bolsheviks used a red flag when they overthrew the Tsar, thus red became associated with communism. Many national flags use red. The red Ruby is the traditional Fortieth Wedding Anniversary gift.

Guns in TX schools. Yet another reason I'm glad to leave!

So while I was surfing the web this morning waiting for a call. I found this article. I am so glad I am leaving!

Texas school district to let teachers carry guns
Fri Aug 15, 3:33 PM ET
HOUSTON (Reuters) - A Texas school district will let teachers bring guns to class this fall, the district's superintendent said on Friday, in what experts said appeared to be a first in the United States.
The board of the small rural Harrold Independent School District unanimously approved the plan and parents have not objected, said the district's superintendent, David Thweatt.
School experts backed Threat's claim that Harold, a system of about 110 students 150 miles northwest of Fort Worth, may be the first to let teachers bring guns to the classroom.
Thweatt said it is a matter of safety.
"We have a lock-down situation, we have cameras, but the question we had to answer is, 'What if somebody gets in? What are we going to do?" he said. "It's just common sense."
Teachers who wish to bring guns will have to be certified to carry a concealed handgun in Texas and get crisis training and permission from school officials, he said.
Recent school shootings in the United States have prompted some calls for school officials to allow students and teachers to carry legally concealed weapons into classrooms.
The U.S. Congress once barred guns at schools nationwide, but the U.S. Supreme Court struck the law down, although state and local communities could adopt their own laws. Texas bars guns at schools without the school's permission.

How I will miss my McAllisters!

Just in the past year I have become addicted to McAllister's sweet tea and French Dip. I really don't know how it started but every Sunday at 11, whom ever can make it goes there and we trade stories about our weekend, and moan and groan about the week coming up! Strangely it's something that I found myself looking forward to on Sunday mornings. I don't know if it's the friends or the food but it has made my stay here a little more enjoyable. I will miss the food and all the talks. Know that on Sunday's I will be thinking about you! P.S. I am in complete shock that Denver of all places doesn't have a McAllister's! Completely unAmerican!

Down right mean and hateful!

What do all of these pretty boys have in common you ask? Well first of all there's one missing. He always seems to not be there when a camera comes out. I will get a picture of you Ryan before I leave! Back to my original question. What do these boys have in common? Besides working for big blue, besides being single (with the exception of one), and besides being the only thing I will miss from here. Can't figure it out. They are all down right mean and hateful! Now seeing that they all work together throughout the week, and do all their man bashing on one another then, guess who gets all that hatefulness on the weekends? Yup yours truly. It's OK because I will honestly miss it when I'm gone. All the pool sticks in the stomach, the bruises, the trash talking about us Cajuns. Don't get me wrong their a bunch of typical guys, but I've learned from the best, and I give just as good as I take!

How I love KARMA!

My dear precious husband just texted me complaining about the weather in Denver. Apparently it's 52 degrees and he is without a sweater. Oh I just dance and laugh because if you know my husband you know how much he constantly complained like a 2 year old about how hot it was in the south and how humid it is. Oh how I sit here and smile. His favorite place in the world is to cold for him today!

To make it even better I get another call 30 minutes later. Rufuss "my dog," has chewed up the bottle of lotion, the camera bag, and something else. How do we know it's him? He has lotion all over his face. Ahh yet again karma. For all those times they were bad for me, for all the times you fussed about the weather! Today was a good day!

I miss my babies!

Look at these two. Are they not the cutiest things you've ever seen? Oh how I miss them. I miss my black tornado and my mamma's boy. They made the trek up to Colorado when we went for vacation. These 2 just love the new place. They love to lay on the landing between the first and second levels and watch everything going on. Rufuss however is still adjusting. He will follow you everywhere. When I was there painting one day I turned around to fast and ran straight into him. So of course he had looked as if I had just beaten him. He's such an emotional dog! Aqua though however has her moments too! There is a dog run in our courtyard. It's full of little pebbles. Well the princess does not like ti when they touch her feet. You have to take her off the leash and push her in, let her do her business and pull her out. She will not walk on the pebbles. They are both a trip! 17 days and counting!

Wanna know what I see?

I feel like the luckest girl in the world. This is the view from my front balcony at sunset! It doesn't get any better!

What is there to do in Denver you ask?

First of all I have to say I can't wait to go shopping. I live 6 blocks from what is known as 16th Street Mall. Denver had the brilliant idea of slapping a mall in the middle of downtown! The few times I have walked down 16th Street I ws like a kid in the candy store. My poor husband is not going to be able to control me once I start.

"The 16th Street Mall is Denver’s hub of shopping, dining and entertainment
that stretches for 16 blocks in the heart of downtown. An environmentally
friendly free shuttle service stops at every intersection to transport
shoppers to more than a mile of Denver’s best restaurants and shops. The
16th Street Mall recently became a wireless internet hot spot—visitors can
log on for free anywhere along the Mall."

We're Moving!

Yes yet again we are moving. Big blue had her way with us and it was time for a change. My wonderful husband that I am so very proud of got a fabulous new job in Denver and I am currently talking to a few design firms. As for the moving part that's where these blogs start. We have been living in seperate states for the past 3 and a half weeks. Let's see for the past 7 weeks, I have seen my husband 14 days. Ahhhhhh Anyway, packers and movers coming in 2 weeks. All I have to say is thank god for friends. If it wasn't for my great friends here my lawn would be growing wild, (Nick time to cut again!) I'd have heavy furniture to deal with and I would have no one to come scare the crazies away. (Thanks again Jesse for taking care of the churchers!)

Anyway, goal for this weekend, mow yard, do laundry, clean bathroom, and vacum!
But for now I will leave you with pictures of the loft. These are the before pictures. I have already started to put my touches on it. Whenever my husband decides to download the pics I will post. Until then, pray for my sanity!
